What is it?
Discipleship groups are a space where people can engage with one another in ways of discussion, prayer, reading and studying the Word of God throughout the conference. The purpose of discipleship groups is to help attendees develop meaningful and lasting friendships that support each other’s journeys through identity, revival and mission.
The essence of discipleship groups is based on the account in Acts 2 where “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. Now all the believers were together and held all things in common” and this is when the early church experienced mass growth.
Why is it important?
Discipleship groups are important as it is the model given to us in Acts 2 where multitudes were added to the church daily. The bible is clear it is one of the most effective ways to bring the gospel to the world when led by the Holy Spirit. Discipleship groups aim at taking the same concepts and principles of small groups and applying it at a conference level to challenge and support your faith. It is an environment where you will build lasting relationships with others from all around Australia.
